Common Questions

No. StationOps runs entirely on your station's local network. There are no cloud services, no external API calls, and no internet dependency. If your LAN is up, the app is up. Your data never leaves the building.
Any device with a web browser. Desktop computers, laptops, tablets, phones, and smart TVs all work. StationOps is designed to run on multiple screens simultaneously — an officer workstation, a bay board monitor, a kiosk tablet, and crew phones can all be active at the same time, all staying in sync.
The Command Board polls the database every 3 seconds and automatically refreshes when the browser tab regains focus. When an officer updates unit times, adds personnel, or records a PAR check from the incident page, those changes appear on the Command Board within seconds.
PAR (Personnel Accountability Report) is a critical fireground safety practice. StationOps includes a configurable countdown timer (5, 10, 15, 20, or 30 minute intervals) that visually alerts when it's time for an accountability check. Green means safe, yellow is a warning, and red flashes when overdue. Every PAR is logged with the result and timestamp.
StationOps has four permission levels. Admins have full control over settings, personnel, and all data. Officers can manage operations — publish schedules, sign checklists, manage training. Firefighters handle daily tasks — run checklists, report issues, adjust supplies. Read-only users can view everything but can't make changes. Every action is logged in an immutable audit trail.
Yes. Every incident has a print-ready report page that includes incident details, full timeline, all dispatched units with individual times, personnel and ICS assignments, scene size-up, PAR check history, mutual aid agencies, the activity log, and a signature block for officer sign-off. Just hit print from the browser.
No. StationOps is self-hosted on your own hardware. There are no monthly fees, no per-user charges, and no cloud hosting costs. You own the software and all your data outright.
StationOps runs on a single machine on your station's network. Once installed, any device on the LAN can access it through a web browser — no apps to download, no accounts to create on external services. Add your personnel, set up your apparatus, create your checklist templates, and you're operational.
